Please join us at Theodora's Gracious Gift & Design as we Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness onMonday, April 4th and Thursday, April 7th. This year we will be donating 20% of all sales made on these 2 days to the family of a person who dedicated her life to helping people with autism and other developmental disabilities. On February 7, 2016, our son Yianni lost his friend of 14 years, Heather Stritmater. Heather was a loving wife and mother of three, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40. She was a dedicated employee of Another Step Inc., a non-profit agency that strives to partner with people with developmental disabilities to create the lives they choose. Heather’s 19 year career at Another Step proved to be more than a job as she embraced the individuals she took under her wings with compassion and genuine concern for their welfare, caring for them as if they were her own family. Our Yianni was fortunate to feel the love and support she generously gave over the years. Heather embodied the true definition of Autism Awareness: respect, patience and understanding of the strengths and challenges of autism. She will be greatly missed.
Heather is survived by her husband, Chris, a registered nurse who works nights with children who are in Hospice care and their three beautiful children Hannah,14, Aidan, 11, and Liam, 4. The shock of Heather's death as well as the loss of income has put a great strain on this family of four. The monies we raise will be greatly appreciated by the Stritmater family during this extremely painful time.
Please join us on Monday, April 4th and Thursday, April 7th from 4-8 pm
